Excellent blogger dinner last night celebrating Dave Winer's 50th birthday, hosted by Steve Rubel and Robert Scoble.
Blogging is a very lonely job, and it's good to get out and meet other bloggers from time to time. I met many new faces tonight, including several people who read Hacking Netflix. Here's a partial list of people that were there:
Mary Jo Foley from Microsoft Watch, Joel Spolsky (I've been reading his blog forever), Ramon from SmallBizTechnology.com, Tristan from TNL.net, John Keegan from BlogHarbor, Thomas from TrueTalk, Mike from Glemak, David from Parmet, Robert from Podcast NYC, B.L. Ochman from What's Next Blog, and Dr. Andrew Jaffe (a real life astrophysicist). I'm sorry if I missed anyone!
It was also good to hang out with my buddies Ryan from Orbitcast.com and Mike from GarageSpin.com. Technorati tag: dishes05.
Well, I must say that it is just quite nice that the blogger community of you got together in the great city of New York, that even has twice as many police officers as the FBI, in order to make the blog world come in contact with the earth world. And it is quite a special treat for a blog friend to turn into an earth friend, but a girl like I just has to wonder if said earth friend is really the same thing as said blogger friend, and how easy is it to make said transition from a font on a screen to a face with a piece of pizza going into its mouth?
