Manuel mentioned it on his site but I found it to be true...

A Google search does not show any hackingnetflix.com results UNLESS you search for "hackingnetflix" or "hacking netflix". HN.com used to show results when people searched for netflix related items. I remember someone not long ago came here thinking this was a NF customer support site.

Seems it will be harder for people to learn about HN.com now.

Yeah, I seem to be one of many victims of the Google "bourbon" update. I've been waiting for the dust to settle, but it's frustrating to be dropped from the search.

I haven't done any search engine optimization or "tricks" to get ranked high, I just post a lot of information about Netflix (700+ posts) and have a lot of sites linking to HackingNetflix.

I'm still in Google if you use the "allintitle: netflix" search, and I have a pagerank, so I haven't been banned or sent to the "sandbox."

Wish I knew why. I'm not alone, it seems Google dropped a bunch of sites and we can't figure out why.

I am a MOD at a pretty big website that was number 1 on google (or maybe it was yahoo) for several categories that had to do with our site. We got dropped of the list for 3 weeks (if I remember right)and we were frantically looking into figuring out why. Well it turns out a competitor used our email ady and sent out thousands of pieces of SPAM in our name. We got it straightened out and we are now back up there but it wa a major hassle.

Now I doubt any Netlfix bloggers did that, but it could easily have been a poster who got mad at the site for a post or whatever that did it. Do some research and I am sure you could find hacking netflix listed as a spam site somewhere and google is basing your listing as such.

Or it could simply be that you have "Hacking" in the URL.

Not to go too far off topic, but does anyone have any knowledge of the single "Netflix Express" store? There is a nice picture of it from Google. (Hosted by the company that designed the stand.) Anyone have any knowledge or ideas about it?

The stand had "20$" as the price, so I presume it is at least a year old. I actually think the vending machine model might work, and some companies are trying that - McDonald's for one. I don't see all that much reason for Netflix to go down that path though.

I feel your pain guys. I noticed the lack of HN pages on Google this week, despite have tons of related info. Google has been terribly "funky" -- for lack of a better term -- with my SERPs as well. My site ranks high with numerous video game rental sites yet is not even listed when someone searches for "video game rentals." Yeah, love you too Google.
