That's ironic. I guess they didn't figure she was married to you. For the paranoid among us, this proves Netflix isn't The All-Seeing Eye.

I don't know how Netflix does it, but many direct mail ads are addressed to an individual and includes "Or Current Resident" in the address field.
If Netflix has another company handle their mass ad mailings, it is probably less expensive to have their existing customers receive the ads than to attempt to merge their database with another company's in order to eliminate some mailings.

My wife has a different last name, so that may be the reason.

I doubt it... my wife got one too and she has the same last name as me. I did create a profile for her awhile ago and later deleted it since she didn't use it... maybe that has something to do with it.

That's a very involved sign-up kit they sent her. I wonder if a follow-up throttle-kit will be sent to her outlining the various throttling techniques. As a side, and to stay on topic, of course, I wonder how much that kit cost them in addition to the targeted mailing (using your wife's name)! Looks like ThrottleFix is aggrssively going after potential subscribers, which means that the "new customer sign-up costs" are going up, which in turn means more throttling for loyal subscribers like me!

Once Netflix sent me a two week trial offer... funny thing is, I was already a member at the time.
