Movie Bandits: New Online DVD Trading Service

David Perkovich, the former Blockbuster vice president of online subscription services who launched Blockbuster Online, has started Movie Bandits, a new online DVD trading service.

Moviebandits

The service is different from Peerflix because all of the movies are sent back to a central location, inspected, cleaned and repaired (if necessary) before being sent to the customer. Movie Bandits has been in testing since January and already has an inventory of 250,000 movies and 10,000 registered customers.

Has anyone tried Movie Bandits?

I just took a quick look at the web site. It appears that you pay for the cost of the disc (e.g., "Howards End" = $22), minus the credit for any trade in (e.g., "Howards End" trade in value = $19), plus $3 S&H for the first title and $1.25 per title for additional titles in the order. Thus, turning "Howards End" around would cost you about $6. Not worth it in my opinion.

BTW - "Howards End" was not "in-stock" anyway. And the DVD they ship you will be used and likely include no art-work.
