Netflix announced that singer Lisa Loeb will be hosting the Nettflix Roadshow, a multi-city movie tour that will screen movies in locations where they were filmed.
Ms. Loeb will accompany the "Netflix Rolling Roadshow" as its spokesperson and ambassador. "We are thrilled to have Lisa on the road with us," said Leslie Kilgore, chief marketing officer for Netflix. "Her effervescence, style and pop-culture acumen will no doubt enrich the tour experience and bring great energy and wit to this national event."

I dig Lisa Loeb and wonder why she didn't call me up when doing #1 Single?? I'm surely far more normal, interesting, and fun than some of the wackos she wasted time with. :)

someone should do a "reality show" as they follow Lisa Loeb around the country to these various film locations - except each time, they have to dress up as a character in the film as they attempt to take her out for drinks. You just need to pals with A1U cameras and you're on HDNet.

Oh come on! What does Lisa Loeb have to do with movies? They surely could have gotten some flailing actor to do this instead of a washed up "musician". Eddie Murphy isn't doing much these days is he?

I second that. Why should Netflix waste your money hosting a traveling show of old movies you may not even like? They should put those lousy theaters out of business, not hand 'em more money. If Reed Hastings wants to spend HIS money on revivals, fine. But why should customers have to fund these, while NF keeps right on throttling and lying to them?

It's also rather stupid that they don't sell food and drinks. They could get back some of the money they're wasting on this promotion. Instead, they tell people to bring their own food! Who wants to go to all that trouble to have a flat drink, stale popcorn, and melted candy? Why not sell food, preferably "real" food? Oor find some local restaurant willing to cater it. Another missed opportunity...

I agree with Corey & Pod. Lisa Loeb is a truly poor choice. I guess if you know people you can get a great gig without need for qualification. Perhaps she's under contract with an influential company that Netflix wants to do business with in the future. What demographic does she appeal too? Knowing she's hosting is turning me off from attending or considering it.

Lisa Loeb? Zzzzzz......Pleeeez! Might as well have got someone off of one of the many lame reality shows.

I don't like her either but I get it from a "selling it" perspective. Lisa Loeb = boring = mainstream consumer.
Hey Shill, time to change your diaper.

Who is she? I never heard of her... Guess I'm not into "pop-culture." And what is this Netflix Roadshow thing???
I just rent regular DVDs from Netflix and have absolutely no interest in anything else Netflix is involved with - be it roadshows, electronic distribution, HD DVDs, Blue Ray DVDs, whatever...

"Might as well have got someone off of one of the many lame reality shows."
As mentioned by the original commenter in this thread, Lisa Loeb IS off of one of the many lame reality shows.
"...strange that you would be a regular reader of this blog then."
Someone can be very interested in how Netflix handles their core business without having any interest in their other activities.
