Netflix Hiring 10' User Interface Engineer
Netflix is looking for a Lead User Interface Engineer, and the job description is very interesting:

This means that we need someone that is grounded in very strong engineering skills, while at the same time, understands the subtleties of implementing a great User Interface. This engineer will be able to take both disciplines and combine them in an exciting way using appropriate technology, such as Windows Presentation Foundation (formerly Avalon). This research team will be investigating new ten-foot user interface models for browsing a huge catalog of movies on a on a TV. Rich interactivity will be key to collecting user tastes and preferences and helping the user find the right content easily. We will be exploring various technologies such as Windows Presentation Foundation, which means we are looking for someone able to pick up a new tools and execute quickly and effectively. We believe in real world testing: project objectives will be to get prototypes into customer hands quickly, to explore concepts in live use scenarios.
Netflix is also looking for a Senior user Interface Engineer and a Senior Web Designer.

pretty strange how they go into so much detail, almost to the point of giving away plans for for the future. working there probably sucks big time but goddamn whoever can fill those requirments will make a ton of money. If I had a few more years experience and lived out there I'd take 150+ grand a year to put up with their safe, clean boring style.

The term no doubt refers to the distance between the user and the screen - not the height of the UI guy.
