Tara misses the Netflix "two cent" reviews: "This was something my friends and I loved to use, so we could browse through movies and see what others thought of it. I don't know why netflix would take this feature away, and I'd like to try to get it back."
Matthew writes: "Has anyone noticed that you can't send suggestions to non-friends anymore? Ever since they re-vamped the friends section? I always thought that was a nice way to entice my friends into becoming members and to recommend a movie to them."
Do you miss some of the old Friends features?

I miss it terribly already! I liked being able to just leave my two cents on the movie title page and move on... I don't want to have to send it to anyone. I also liked the old friends page and how I could peruse individual friends' two cents on one page.

I was shocked when I logged on the other day and found the new, and exceptionally complex "Friends" page. And though I enjoy the expanded space for mini-reviews in the "Notebook", I miss the easier to use & easier to view "two cents" reviews. Can't we have both? Is there some sort of petion for this kind of thing?

I miss having the two cents right there on the movie page, but correct me please, isn't this pretty much the same thing, only a little better? I have three people in my friends list, and sending them all a note is the same as a "two cent review", except now I don't always have to send it to my mother (who i don't think cared anyway). I miss how simple it had been, but i don't think i'm missing the function. All my two cent reviews going back to when I joined Netflix are in the Notebook. Now my sister can reply--which is really cool--It seems to me that it really is improved.

I agree that I miss the "Two Cents" reviewing function. I used to sit through a movie thinking, "How can I summerize this in 30 words or less?"
But, I have to say I miss all the other sidebar information the most. I liked to see a couple of my Friends' Unique Favorites or movies Loved By My Friends and Recommended For Me, but I especially miss the Average Rating information. I liked to hold it over them that I was a more "critical" reviewer with a lower average rating.

What I really dislike about this is that you can no longer edit them. Once you "Leave a Note", that's it. I found a typo in one of mine (written months ago as a Two Cent Review) but I can't fix it now. Here's the reply from Netflix:
"If you want to share your thoughts on a movie with someone, you can click the "Leave Note" button to Leave a Note for your Friend telling them what you thought about the film. You will also have the chance to review your rating for the film, and select which Friends you want to share your note with. Unfortunately, these can no longer be edited."

Never found much use for the "Friends" feature. I just read other Netflix customers' reviews - I have a list of certain, very good but anonymous to me, reviewers that I periodically check for opinions. and then use as recommendations for possible future rentals. Personally, I've rated a little under 3,000 titles, and am closing in on 500 reviews written, so I do contribute to the Netflix community.

it's the same thing like sueyu said. it's better.
"Never found much use for the "Friends" feature. "
I think people like it because most of the time you know your friends well outside of the internet, and you know what kind of movies they like. A few of my friends are real good rating those real bad B-Horror-monster movies that are basically a joke. I know I can trust a movie is good if they say it is good, because we have the same sense of humor. where as some reviewers give those same movies 1 star.
