Mike sent me this tip (I don't want to know why he was doing reverse DNS lookups on Netflix servers, but the results are very interesting):
I noticed that some of the machines on Netflix's network have interesting reverse DNS entries. If you look up 216.35.131.242 you will see that it is named moviedownload1.netflix.com. 216.35.131.243 points to moviedownload2.netflix.com, and 216.35.131.247 to moviedownload3.netflix.com.
The "moviedownload" hostnames don't resolve back to the IP addresses, and the IP addresses don't ping, so its likely an internal only thing and not part of a beta program.
I was able to confirm Mike's research:

It looks like we're getting closer and closer to seeing a movie download service from Netflix. I wonder if they're still going to call it the Netflix Player?
How do I stop Netflix from providing me with
prepaid return envelopes from the West coast,
I used to get fast turnaround times on my rentals, then I noticed that I was having to send my movies back to Mississippi and farther points with each rental. I used to be provided with envelopes from my city.
