The Netflix Fan Blog discovered that the William Shatner DVD Club has closed ("Must... Join.. My... Club..."). The good news is that he's hilarious playing a parody of himself on Boston Legal.

I had only heard rumors that the titles sent out were worse than the stuff that runs on the SciFi channel.

You heard right. I canceled after receiving my first DVD. The movie was so bad I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I turned it off about a third of the way into the movie.

Yeah, after the even-numbered Star Trek flicks, what would be left to watch?

The odd-numbered ones. ;)

The only good ones are II and IV. IV doesn't take itself seriously like the others. II is OK, but depressing and unpleasant. Star Trek went to hell when the NextGen cast was added to the mix. I've never understood the appeal of VI, either.

III wasn't that bad, just frustrating. The first one certainly wasn't the worst movie ever but I'll never need to watch it again. V was horrible.

I liked it a lot, and I would have enjoyed it even more if they had chosen to stop the series there, instead of continuing on with several tepid NG efforts. I think I liked VI because it was directed by the same guy that did II, which remains the pinnacle of the series. (Okay, I'm going to take off my Spock ears now....)

I have to admit that I liked all of them. Some less then others and some that I would only watch once or twice.
