Longest Movie at Top of Your Queue?
Evan writes, "I wonder what's the longest someone has had a movie in the top 5 without ever seeing it by pushing it back over and over again. I have had Dark Water in my top five for a few months now but you have had "Make your own movie disc 1" for as long as I have paid attention to your netflix RSS feed."
I'm constantly updating my queue and rearranging the top rentals, so Make Your Own Damn Movie will probably be there a while longer (I really don't have an interest in making a movie, but I'm curious about the process).
What's the longest you've held off renting a movie that's been at the top of your queue?

Street Heat, Hood Fights (Shut up! I know it's lame, I want to see it!) has been at the top of my queue since about March of 2006.

I have a rather large queue, about 360 movies. As a result, a movie is pretty old by the time it gets to the top and therefore, I get them immediately. My comment is about the fact that "Dark Water" is the movie you are waiting on. That movie is really old (it came out in 2005) and there shouldn't be a high demand for it. It is so old...I've already seen it! and when I did see it, the movie shipped out immediately. I wonder if Netflix has lost their entire inventory to "Dark Water" due to lost or damaged movies. I would be interested in seeing what would happen if you deleted all of your queue except for "Dark Water" to see how fast it was shipped to you.

I've had stuff at the top of my queue for 4-12 weeks, but then it goes out of print and lands in my saved section.
I have never had a film in my queue that was newer than 2004.

The movie is available I just keep putting stuff in front of it.

You guys are lucky, I've had an "available" movie in my top 5 at BBO for about a month and I can't figure out how to get it sent to me. I've now gone and chosen movies for slots 2-5 with waits, which probably means I'll get #6.
Yeah I know, it's BBO what I'ld expect.

By the time I quit, I had an available movie in my number one slot for three months.
As for Netflix, I can't say how long I've had some movies in the top of my queue. When I send some back in, I'm always rearranging top ten, moving some down and others up. Hazarding a guess I'd have to say I've moved Karla up and down the most.
On my blog, I list the "movies at home" instead of the queue.
