I wonder how many of Blockbuster's 70,000 are in the permanent "coming soon" category? My queue of 100 has 40 titles that have been "coming soon" for up to 18 months.

BB has made some tremendous strides, but they're a long way off from threatening NF in depth of selection. I strongly doubt that BB is only 10,000 behind in rentable titles.


80K titles. What do you think the marginal benefit is to Netflix & its customers of those last few thousand titles? At 60K or maybe even 70K, maybe you're still in "long tail" territory. You know, maybe there are a few people who want to watch "Blacula meets Shaft in Africa." But 80K titles... I think we've moved from tail to ass.
