What's Your Favorite Holiday Movie?

The Netflix Community Blog pointed to a list of holiday movies created by Netflix subscriber Phatz. Phatz also created a number of category lists: Christmas comedies, drama, Christmas - animated / kids, Christmas - Santa Clause, elfs, Christmas - snowmen, Christmas - reindeer, Christmas - music & dance, Christmas - a deeper look, Christmas - horror / not so jolly, Christmas - specials, and Christmas - Watch Instantly.

You can learn how to make your own custom lists through the Netflix help system.

Some of my favorite holiday movies include It's a Wonderful Life, A Nightmare Before Christmas, Christmas Time in South Park, A Miracle on 34th Street, Family Man, and A Christmas Story.

Die Hard 1 & 2 of course! A little non-traditional but I don't care.

It's a wonderful life. Can't get through the 'holiday's' without. A Christmas story is a fun one to watch with the kids.

A Christmas Story - The Red Rider BB gun! Watch out, "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!"

Die Hard is hands down the greatest Christmas movie ever made. Now I have a machine gun, ho ho ho.

Elf, baby!

Its a Wonderful Life
Bad Santa
Die Hard

Bad Santa -drunken, thieving Santa.

A Nightmare Before Christmas -Santa is kidnapped by dead people.

Dead End -on the way to Grandma's house horrible yet hilarious things happen.

Merry Netflix, folks. ;)

A Christmas Story.

I watch this one several times on TNT each Christmas Day.

Bad Santa
Love, Actually

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Scrooged, and who can forget Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas.

Alright, I couldn't possibly pick just one so here's my Top 10 (in no particular order):

1. Bad Santa (UR)
2. The Ref
3. Die Hard/Die Hard 2: Die Harder
4. Lethal Weapon
5. Miracle on 34th Street
6. Scrooged
7. The Nightmare Before Christmas
8. Gremlins
9. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
10. A Christmas Story

Honorable mentions go to "Black Christmas", "Christmas Evil", "Silent Night, Deadly Night" and "Love, Actually".

OOPS: I meant to say "It's a Wonderful Life" for #5.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, Scrooged, Nightmare Before Christmas, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer (the 1964 claymation musical). I used to have to watch Prancer every year.

Millions! Delightful.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!!!!

1. The Santa Clause Movie (I think from 1984. My parents took me to see it in the theaters when I was young)
2. National Lampoons's Christmas Vacation (Don't throw me down Clark)
3. Bad Santa
4. Elf
5. The Grinch movies (The Original & Jim Carey versions)
6. Scrooged
7. Die Hard & Die Harder
8. Any of the South Park episodes
9. A Christmas Story
10. The Ice Harvest

I cannot choose just one movie (or television show). While I'm not listing them in order, some of my favorites are:

1. Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
2. It's a Wonderful Life
3. A Christmas Story
4. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
5. Scrooged
6. Home Alone 2
7. White Christmas
8. Holiday Inn
9. A Charlie Brown Christmas
10. A Christmas Carol (1951)
11. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
12. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)
