Blockbuster Sneak Preview of New Website Changes
Blockbuster sent an e-mail to customers with the address of a sneak peek movie of new features that will be available later this month.

The new tab interface and profile avatars are obviously influenced by the Netflix website, but the mini-queue and web widgets are unique to Blockbuster.
What do you think of the new design?
Thanks to everyone that sent this in.

looks better to me!

It is probably just coincidence but the title of the demo is 'Change is in the air' while Apple's slogan for their recent MacWorld was 'There's something in the air'.
The new Blockbuter CEO has talked extensively about Apple in the past.
As for the demo, they seriously needed it and the preview looks like an improvement. I rejoined recently and just figuring out how to do that was surprisingly challenging. The bugs\usability of the existing site are pretty bad.
A new feature I noticed on the existing system that is clever is that it tells you when you have rented a movie from the store that is also in your queue and gives you logical options to address it.

I really like that mini queue and am frankly embarrassed for Netflix that they didn't implement it first.

"The bugs\usability of the existing site are pretty bad"
Search for movie, add movie to queue, movie arrives, watch movie, take movie to store for exchange using Total Access - seems pretty easy to use to me.
What specific bugs and usability issues are you encountering?

When I was with Blockbuster one of the problems I always had is over half of my recommendations would be movies I had already seen and rated.
Hopefully that is one thing that has changed or will change with this update.
