HP PC With Blu-ray & HD DVD Support For $949

Engadget is reporting that HP is getting ready to ship a slimline PC with the ability to read Blu-ray and HD DVD disks, NTSC / ATSC TV tuners, HDMI, 500 gig hard drive, 2 gig of RAM, and more. The Pavilion Slimline s3330f PC will start at $949 and be available later this month. At this price, it rivals some of the dual format high-def DVD drives, but also includes a full PC with Windows Vista Home Premium. I've had a HP Windows XP Media Center connected to my TV since 2004, and this sounds interesting, but I need Cablecard support for Comcast to record HD programming.

Comments

With the cost of a dual HD DVD/Blu Ray drive, I'm assuming then that they cut corners on ALL the other components. Don't be surprised if the HD is maxtor and the motherboard is made by emachines.
