Update: Gizmodo has a screen capture of the survey, so it looks a bit more legit.
Seanbajuice received a Netflix survey with details about support for Watch Instantly on the Xbox 360 and PS3:
The survey continues with specific details for PS3:“Now you can watch movies from Netflix instantly by using your Internet-connected Playstation 3. Simply insert a special Netflix disc into your PS/3 to enable instant movie streaming. The disc is available from Netflix for a one-time fee of $3.”
and Xbox 360:
“Now you can watch movies from Netflix instantly by using your existing Xbox LIVE account. You can choose from over 7,000 movies and TV series, and your choice starts playing on your TELEVISION in as little as 30 seconds. ”
via Engadget.

Please -- some details on how to get that PS3 disc! :)

I don't Mike, I'm pretty skeptical on this one. This could be legit, but Seanbajuice doesn't have very many blog entries and some of his links take you to spammy affiliate sites. The whole $3 disc also sounds a little bit funny. I'd love to get confirmation that other Netflix users have also received this survey. Is this the only place that you've seen this mentioned or have other readers commented on seeing this survey too?

Davis,
I'm a bit skeptical, too, but Engadget ran it and I figured it would spark a discussion.
I used the appropriate "?" to share my concern about the source. ;-)

This would be awesome, right now I have a computer attached to the tv, but if I could do this on the xbox, it would have a better interface and I wouldn't have to change inputs as much.

I hope they do this for the PS3 but it still may not be useful to me. As it is, I don't find the movies watchable on my 22" monitor because they detect me at a "Basic" internet speed. If I can now play it on my 52" HDTV from the PS3 then "Basic" is going to be even worse to look at.
Let me select the quality. I'll wait for it to download. Better yet, let me kick off downloads on a couple I'm going to view overnight when network demand is low. I'm not usually in a hurry.

I always forget that I need to now wait to enter the special characters from the scrambled box when submitting a comment. I was not trying to be anonymous in the previous post.

Boy I'd love it if the PS3 could be a Netflix Box - I assume the disc loads some sort of Linux front end OS to allow DRM'd access to the Netflix web site and Watch Now. I'd hop on this in an instant.
