Video Rant About DVD Commercials

Commercials I Hate posted a video rant on YouTube about the commercials he hates, and it features an interesting analysis of the MPAA piracy video, one of the most annoying commercials of all time. Warning: It features some strong language (cussing) and more, so don't watch it if you're bugged out anything PG13 or higher.

Thanks to John A. for sending this in.

This guy is the most boring ever, he actually does this "Show" regularly? Who watches IT?

Anyway, I guess he makes good points, I certainly do hate the "You wouldn't steal a mobile phone" commercial stuck in front of my Blu-ray movies. I should not ever have to see that.

HEAR, HEAR!

I still have a few "ancient" DVDs that are free of all this garbage. There were no stupid commercials about stealing, no copyright protection screen (much less the expanded warning that is now TWO slides... AND in English and French for a total of FOUR), no preview commercials and they don't have 5 different slides for the studio, the distributor, the distributor's babysitter's cousin, etc. There were no stupid multimedia menus that spoiled the best parts of the movie and didn't waste 20 seconds showing a video clip when you switched from the main menu to Scenes. Sheesh, if you let this stuff go, it's 20 minutes before you get to watch a movie!

DVDs used to be really cool. I LOVE my "oldies." I put them in the player, close the tray and the ACTUAL MOVIE STARTS PLAYING before I have time to walk across the room and have my butt firmly planted on the couch.

Any feel like charging the studios for time lost while having to watch the piracy threats and crap?

This video hit the nail on the head. Downloading data, which can be copied infinitely with no quality loss, is nowhere close to stealing a physical, tangible product from a store, which is a limited supply.

And it's insulting to see commercials like this on something you've paid for.

The part about not being able to skip them is wrong though. I've been able to anyway.
