Netflix Back Online & Shipping Movies; Movie Ratings Missing
Update: Netflix has posted a notice that recommendations are unavailable (but your ratings are safe):

The Netflix website went back online around 6pm (PT) last night, but movie ratings (stars) are missing.

Netflix is shipping movies today (some customer DVDs were delayed due to the technical problems yesterday).

Thanks to Harrison, Andrew, Mike, Bruce, Leah, and everyone else for sending this in.

Movie ratings up, but Friends feature not yet.

I have 2 dvds that have already shipped today. 4 more are supposed to ship, but haven't yet. It's inconvenient, but not a tragedy. :)

It's funny, my ratings are back. But some of my suggestions say "Because you enjoyed" then nothing.

Ratings up and most of Friends except for my ratings on that page.

Maybe judge not lest you be judged should take a chill pill since we are all supposedly getting refunded for this debacle.

Bizarrely, it appears that they know you have ratings in the system (it has the number of ratings you've entered on your friends page) but your current ratings don't appear to be recognized for purposes of the Movie Recommendations page.

THE BLOB: Ha, ha, ha... rofl... how old are you? "chill pill". I don't think the point was that there was anger toward the site being down, just toward some people, who are telling others who are frustrated about it that they have no life. :o)

I think Netflix has done a fine job and has constantly improved how their website functions and user experience. Anyone who was affected with a late delivery can always request a credit - if it's really that much of an issue. Basically, I have movies whenever I want them and it costs less than just about anywhere else. The only thing occasionally slow for me is my mail carrier, who I suspect may be watching some of my movies before delivering them. Funny thing is, my home internet connection was down from yesterday afternoon to (hopefully back up) this afternoon, so I didn't even know until I got into work.

Looks like a one day delay in shipping. Netflix still much, much better than Blockbuster online---and cheaper.

To my good friend Ha: because "rofl" shows maturity beyond your years.

If you cant deal without the service for 12 hours, that just shows what a dedicated Netflixer you are. If it weren't for Netflix you would be going to Hollywood or BB and whining about something else. You have had it so good and gotten used to it- an homage to Netflix. It is as if your spouse walked out and you said "damn you for leaving me, now come back!" Just mad because you are dependent on NF.
If this is what outrages you in the world, you really need to rethink your selfish and shallow perspective.

Confirmed! 2 lost days due to NF's screwup!!!
"Banacek: Season 2: Disc 3 Shipping Wednesday
Candid Camera: 5 Decades of Smiles: Disc 2 Shipping Wednesday"
My discs won't ship until Wednesday! That's 2 lost days (plus a lost rental due to NF's cover label being ripped off and the disc for Banacek returning BEFORE I received it!)
So, where is my compensation for NF's POS website problem?!

yeah my movies were shipping today yesterday and still shipping today, today and probably will be shipping today tomorrow and then will take 2-3 days to get to me.

Seems Netflix still haven't caught up yet. I sent back 3 DVD last Friday. 2 received today. 1 shipped today. 1 will ship tomorrow. No. 3 still has not been received. :(

I called CS to complain (I actually needed one of the movies for a particular event) and they were as usual super nice about it. They gave me an extra movie, and paid for the one I'm going to have to rent from a local video store.
Really nice service, seriously. Still annoying that I have to make a trip to the video store when I have a zillion other things to do today. But they did all they could to make it right. This is why I'm their customer.

mine supposedly shipped today, according to the site, but no shipping email. any one else see this? you think its normal?

BoB: Given what you're renting I'd say Netflix did you a favor by delaying those DVDs. Sheesh!
Posted by: Sirkickyass | March 25, 2008 at 08:36 PM
I had six ship out today. I received emails for all of them.

thanks Adam for posting the url address for the 'new releases' this week. I prefer this type of notice rather than the new format. all in one page.

"BoB: Given what you're renting I'd say Netflix did you a favor by delaying those DVDs. Sheesh!"
Who asked you Sirkickyass, you wanker?! Keep your dribble to yourself!!!

Sirkickyass, I guess you're saying you will pay me for my lost time then? Well then send me my money you worthless pervert of a critic!!!

It appears that the level of discourse has declined even more quickly than usually.
I shall go back to watching I Am Legend, and being thankful that we have Netflix.

Wow calm down its just movies and he was just making an observation, he has a right to his opinion and so do you but there is no need to resort to name calling, its just Netflix after all, its not life and death people.

All of my movies were received and subsequently shipped out 3 more today. The only thing I can see that isn't back up is my recommendations. Originally I had up to 800+ recommendations and right now it is sitting at 24. I don't typically look at them anyway but I just wanted to provide an update. My service, for what it's worth, is back up and running.

Hm. A lot of confusion. My thoughts are that the update to the web site went south and caused a lot of problems. At this time, I see that there is no "Now" in the availability column. The "wait" states are there and in red. Otherwise, it is blank.
I didn't ship my titles back until yesterday and they were received today. They have shipped 7 of the 8 and will ship the 8th from another location (which is fine).
I like the new home page design, but they still have some bugs to work out. I have not noticed any problems with speed.
