I am certain the USB port on the back of the Samsung DVD player...BD-P2550 can utilize WiFi...wireless USB network port. I can't seem to get it to work...although the guys at Best Buy seem to have done it. Any ideas?

Additionally...the guys at Netflix have no idea...they insist that the DVD player only works with the Ethernet cable. My Linksys router has security enabled.

You can get a "gaming adapter" to hook you Samsung player to a wireless network. I did so and it works great. This thing is simply a wired-wireless ethernet bridge. I have the Linksys WGA600N. It plugs into the ethernet port on your player.
The guys at Best Buy will tell you you need an "N" wireless network to stream video, and will tell you that you need the fastest network you can get. That's not right.
I am using a wireless G router. The WA600N falls back to "G" mode just fine. A G wireless network can do 54Gbs. Do a speed test and see what your broadband connection is to the internet, and I bet it won't be that fast. That's the bottle neck so if the wireless is as fast or faster than the broadband connection, you will be fine.
I am streaming Netflix over the wireless network to the Samsung player over a "G" network. It works great.

i have just used a wireless router converted to a wireless bridge that connects to my main wireless network. This bridge is what is connected to my Samsung ethernet port. Works just swell.
To convert a spare wireless router to a bridge, please go here : http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge
REMEMBER : You do need two wireless routers, one that will be used for your regular wireless network by connecting to cable modem. The OTHER router will be converted to a bridge, connect to your primary wireless network and be used to connect your BD player to the wireless network.

I just bought a Samsung P1590. I am trying to setup the wireless mode using my Linksys USB wireless card, and the dvd player is not seeing the card. When I plug the card into my desktop it works and gets warm, the card does not get warm when it is pluged into my DVD player. Do I have to buy the Samsung wireless card?

This is really a great news considering most homes today already have internet-readyBlu-ray players in them. But what if you want to enjoy streaming from Netflix but your devices and wireless router are in separate rooms in the house? Don't worry, you can still enjoy this with the help of Netgear's Universal WiFi Internet Adapter. This WiFi adapter is compatible with most internet-ready devices such as TVs, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, and more. You can also use it to connect notebooks, wireless printers, and other networked home theater devices. For more information about the Netgear Universal WiFi Internet Adapter, visit http://bit.ly/bByST7 and discover this wonderful device from Netgear. Enjoy!.
