Michael Rubin, formerly Netflix's Director of Product Management, has launched his latest project: PublicEarth. Built on Google Maps, PublicEarth is a wiki that uses a recommendation system similar to Netflix's to suggest places you might like. The more places (businesses, restaurants, parks, museums, etc.) you rate, the better PublicEarth will get at suggesting things for you to do.
