Though we have a PS3 and, of course 1+ PCs in my house, the Wii is my perferred streaming device right now because Nintendo was smart enough to include Wi-Fi as standard. It's not practical to pull a CAT5 cable to the PS3 and the official Sony USB Wi-Fi adapter is grossly overpriced. It's certainly a trade-off with the low resolution of the Wii, but it's better than nothing.

I thought all PS3's had Wifi. I guess you got the 20gb model.

Well you can find access points pretty cheap....

These numbers are as of Feb 2010:

The 360 has 19,078,300 units in the US. Multiply that by .73 and you get 13,927,159.

The PS3 has 11,760,800 units in the US. Multiply that by .78 and you get 9,173,424.

The Wii has 27,998,300 units in the US. Multiply that by .54 and you get 15,119,082.

All console install base data comes from the NPD Group.

Basically -- Wii still has the largest user base of online connected consoles in the US.

I wouldn’t be too surprised to see many of those users flock to the Netflix web site and order their free disk in the days ahead.
