Blockbuster Signs Promotional Deal with Microsoft's MSN Site
Variety is reporting that Blockbuster has signed a deal with Microsoft to promote their new online service to the more than 350 million unique visitors to the MSN site each month. In addition to Blockbuster, MSN will be promoting CinemaNow and MovieTickets.com, enabling visitors to rent movies, watch them online, read reviews, view trailers, or order tickets from one site.
"We see online rental as a sizable opportunity and feel that teaming up with MSN to reach its large audience is one key way Blockbuster Online can quickly establish itself in this business," said Shane Evangelist, Blockbuster veep and general manager of Blockbuster Online.
OK, so I guess Blockbuster is serious about competing with Netflix. This should be interesting...
