He is Allan Quatermain, an adventurer and hunter who makes the perilous lands of Africa his home. Filmed on location in South Africa, this epic adaptation of H. Rider Haggard's classic tome King Solomon's Mines stars Sean Cameron Michael as the legendary Quatermain.

Dead Man's Bounty A mysterious loner (Karel Roden) rides into a small town carrying the body of a sought-after outlaw (Val Kilmer is the corpse). But after he gambles his bounty away in a card game with the sheriff (Boguslaw Linda), he must devise a scheme to reclaim the dead man. Katarzyna Figura co-stars as a tough barmaid in Polish writer-director Piotr Uklanski's inventive and bloody Western, which both spoofs and pays tribute to the spaghetti Western genre.

Diamond Dogs In debt to the Mongolian mob, maverick ex-Army officer Xander Ronson (Dolph Lundgren) reluctantly agrees to guide a team of American fortune hunters on a quest to find the legendary Tangka tapestry in this martial arts action thriller. Obstacles natural and supernatural stand in the team's way -- from a competing gang of Russian mercenaries to an ancient curse rumored to protect the relic.

Hero Wanted In order to impress a lovely bank teller, small-town trash collector Liam Case (Cuba Gooding Jr.) stages a robbery so he can emerge as the hero. But the simple plan yields deadly consequences, and Case must seek vengeance against the cohorts who betrayed him. Unfortunately, Detective Terry Subcott suspects Case as the perpetrator of a string of murders in this twisty action drama, co-starring Norman Reedus as Case's conflicted pal and co-worker.

Country Remedy Hoping to land his dream job at a Chicago hospital, the recently widowed Dr. Evan Gibbs (Cameron Bancroft) agrees to spend the summer setting up a clinic in the North Carolina mountains. But he and his 10-year-old son (Aidan Mitchell) have a tough time winning over the locals. This bighearted family film features a colorful cast of small-town characters including Bellamy Young as the mayor and Mickey Jones as an often inebriated handyman.

Moondance Alexander When plucky teen Moondance (Kay Panabaker) finds a lost pony named Checkers, she immediately feels a bond with him. Convinced that he's a champion jumper, Moondance persuades Checkers' owner (Don Johnson) into training the two of them for the Bow Valley Classic. Based on a true story, this touching family drama from director and co-writer Michael Damian also stars James Best and Lori Loughlin.

Saludos Amigos / Three Caballeros Classic Disney cartoons take on a spicy Spanish flavor in this pair of animated features set south of the border. The travelogue Saludos Amigos (1943) finds Donald Duck, Goofy and a parrot named Jose Carioca exploring Lake Titicaca, the Andes mountains, the Argentine pampas and Rio de Janeiro. Then, in The Three Caballeros (1945), Donald Duck serves as a tour guide for a virtual trek through Latin and South America.

William Wegman: The Hardly Boys in Hardly Gold Photographer William Wegman pays homage to the Hardy Boys with this tale of two sleuthing Weimaraners. The Hardly brothers are enjoying a summer at the family house in Maine when their friend Chip's Aunt Gladiola goes missing. Now, the boys find themselves in a sinister plot involving a secret garnet mine and the town's water supply. Starring Battina, Crooky, Chundo and Fay Ray, this charming tale premiered at the 1996 Sundance Film Festival.

Get Outta Town Reformed thief Kelly Olson (Doug Wilson) returns to Los Angeles after his brother is killed. But the local cops aren't convinced he's gone straight and want to force him out of town in this classic crime drama. As he searches for his brother's killer, Kelly finds that even his own mother (Beppie De Vries) has turned against him. But with the support of his girlfriend, Jill (Jeanne Baird), he doesn't give up hope.

Johnny Legend Presents: Blonde Mania! Bernard and Doris Susan Sarandon and Ralph Fiennes star in this fascinating tale inspired by the life of billionaire heiress Doris Duke, which speculates on the relationship between Duke and her gay butler, Bernard Lafferty, whom she left in charge of her fortune. Newly sober, Lafferty (Fiennes) finds domestic work with the demanding and eccentric Duke (Sarandon). And in six short years, the two opposites forge a bond deeper than anyone would comprehend.

Cold December Dissatisfied with his 9-to-5 job and his predictable suburban existence, 20-something Chicagoan Chris Payton (Chris Fountain) lurches into a life crisis that threatens to break up his marriage in this drama about the decision to take charge or give up. Hip-Hop Task Force: Studio: Vol. 2 After rapper Elliot Jones is killed in Los Angeles, three cops from the elite federal Hip-Hop Task Force arrive to investigate. Looking deep into the underbelly of the L.A. music world, they uncover some unpleasant truths about the industry. The rampant corruption they unearth clearly played a role in the death, but it's hard to make a case when nobody's talking. Karimah Westbrook, Geonard Butler and James Jones star.

How She Move The life of a high school girl takes a turn for the worse after her sister dies from drug-related problems. She's removed from the comfort and privilege of her private school and forced to return to her old stomping grounds, a dangerous inner-city neighborhood. Struggling to adjust to the changes in her life, she eventually finds unexpected happiness by renewing her passion for step dancing.

Middletown A preacher takes zealotry to new levels -- and faces the wrath of his brother -- when he returns to his vice-ridden hometown in this thriller. The Rev. Gabriel Hunter (Matthew Macfadyen) is stunned to find the village of Middletown awash in sin; but when he begins a mission to save the town, he's shocked to find opposition in his own brother (Daniel Mays), sending his soul-saving efforts into overdrive and setting up an explosive confrontation.

Night of the Fox A pair of secret agents (George Peppard and Deborah Raffin) working for the Allied forces are tasked with finding an American colonel (David Birney) who's drifted behind enemy lines with sensitive information about the D-Day invasion before the Germans can shake it out of him. Michael York and Oscar winner John Mills (Ryan's Daughter) also star in this made-for-television drama based on the novel by Jack Higgins.

Pearl Diver Brought together by a tragic accident, sisters Hannah (Joey Honsa) and Marian (Amy Jean Johnson) try to rebuild their relationship while coming to terms with their Mennonite mother's mysterious murder some 20 years earlier. When Hannah returns to the farming community to help Marian care for her injured daughter, the painful present situation causes the sisters to finally confront their mother's death … and all that it left behind.

Wait Up Harriet In the wake of his wife's sudden death, a grieving firefighter nearly gives up on living. But with the arrival of his wife's spiritual mentor and the encouragement of his own 12-year-old son, he begins to believe in love again. His progress is thrown off track, however, when he discovers some previously unknown truths about his wife's past. Filmmaker Angus Benfield also stars in this independent drama he co-directed with Hanna Eichler.

Boardinghouse After inheriting a large house, Jim Royce (John Wintergate) converts the place into a boarding house that offers low rent to beautiful young women. Surrounded by bikini-clad tenants, Jim is thrilled with his life until an unknown monster begins killing the girls. Often terrorizing them at the pool or in the shower, this supernatural murderer stabs, chops and gouges its victims without mercy. Can Joe's telekinetic powers help him find the killer?

Don't Go in the Woods Alone Campy horror at its finest, this 1982 B movie follows four young backpackers, led by Peter (Jack McClelland), as they're stalked through the wilderness by a deranged, maniacal backwoods killer (played by Tom Drury). In the fine tradition of the gory slasher movies of the 1970s and '80s, this film makes no bones about its simple, bloodthirsty style. Angie Brown, Mary Gail Artz and James P. Hayden co-star as the other fateful campers on the run.

Headless Horseman College friends en route to a party find themselves stuck in the middle of nowhere when they take a wrong turn and land in the uncharted town of Wormwood. As if that weren't weird enough, they're also being chased by a killer who's lost his head. According to local legend, an insane man was decapitated 100 years ago on Halloween, and now, he's back to claim the heads of seven strangers -- as he's done every seven years since.

In the Blood Finally ready to explore his attraction to men, college jock Cassidy (Tyler Hanes) goes out with sexy Victor (Carlos Alberto Valencia). But in the middle of their foreplay, he has a disturbing vision of his sister's death, which may be linked to the recent murders on campus. A serial killer is on the loose, and the only way for Cassidy to have more psychic visions to help catch the murderer is to embrace his homosexuality completely.

Knock, Knock When somebody starts picking off youngsters at Tyson High School -- in gruesome ways linked to their parents' vocations -- tosspot detective Mike Soto (Antonio Mastrantonio) and his pretty partner, Billie Vega (Kim Taggart), are on the case. The school's dim-witted, lecherous janitor (Sal Sirchia) soon becomes a suspect, but all is not what it seems this gory spine-chiller also starring Joli Julianna, Lou Savarese and wrestler Stephanie Finochio.

Schizo A face from the past shatters a young figure skater's marital bliss in director Pete Walker's grisly shocker. Samantha Gray (Lynne Frederick) is ecstatic about her upcoming wedding … until an unwelcome guest shows up to begin a crusade of terror: her mother's ex-lover (Jack Watson), who killed Samantha's mom 15 years ago as she watched. With Samantha's friends getting picked off one by one, can she stop the madman before becoming the next victim?

Berkeley In order to avoid the draft during the turbulent 1960s, Ben Sweet (Nick Roth) enrolls at UC Berkeley, where his talent for playing the guitar coupled with an altruistic naïveté lead him down the path of free love, drugs and political activism. Searching for his place in the world, Ben tries to sort out his complicated romantic entanglements, as well as make peace with the conservative father who resisted his artistic pursuits.

Slant: Asian American Short Films: Vol. 1 Each year, the Aurora Picture Show hosts Slant, a festival of short films by leading Asian-American filmmakers. This collection features eight of the festival's best films, as chosen by curator Melissa Hung, from its 2000 inception. Selections include "Profiles in Science" by Wes Kim, "Lilo and Me" by Kip Fulbeck, "How to Do the Asian Squat" by Daniel Hsia, "I Pie (A Love Story)" by Nobu Adilman and "A Little Bit Different" by Lynn Okimura.

The Guatemalan Handshake A man's disappearance in the wake of a widespread blackout ignites a chain reaction of oddball events in this award-winning independent feature from writer-director Todd Rohal. No one's sure what happened to derby driver Donald Turnupseed (Will Oldham), but his absence has had a definite effect on those around him, including his pregnant girlfriend (Sheila Scullin), his father (Ken Byrnes) and his best friend, Turkeylegs (Katy Haywood).

The Living End Auteur Gregg Araki delivers a remastered edition of his breakthrough film. Jon (Craig Gilmore), who's just been diagnosed with AIDS, reluctantly opens his home to a similarly afflicted homicidal drifter named Luke (Mike Dytri). When Luke kills a cop, the two elude the authorities on a road trip through the American West. But as the journey progresses, Jon begins to wonder if Luke's "do it all, for tomorrow we die" attitude is right for him.

Harlequin Romance Series: Diamond Girl For years, plain paralegal Claire Barnard (Joely Collins) has been secretly in love with her boss, attorney Denny Montana (Kevin Otto), who never gives her a second look. But things change when Denny's brother Regan (Jonathan Cake) arrives to facilitate the sale of the family vineyard. Rescued Stranded on an island after a plane crash, Megan Hughes (Jaci Twiss) finds herself caught in a love triangle with her co-workers, the sincere Mormon convert Chris Russell (Shea Potter) and the arrogant nonbeliever Mark Taylor (Matthew Resse). Passions and jealousies flare, but slowly Megan starts learning important lessons about faith and believing in herself in this gripping tale of love and spirituality.

The Golden Compass After overhearing a shocking secret, precocious orphan Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards) trades her carefree existence roaming the halls of Jordan College for an otherworldly adventure in the far North, unaware that it's part of her destiny. Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Sam Elliott co-star in this fantasy-laden family adventure based on the first book of the Philip Pullman trilogy His Dark Materials.

Harm's Way After escaping from an abusive home, Mavis and her daughter Victoria (Hannah Lochner) take refuge at a remote women's shelter run by Bea (Kathleen Quinlan). But as the seemingly compassionate Bea befriends Victoria, the girl begins to turn against her mother. Now, Mavis finds herself in a fight for her life in this tense thriller directed by Melanie Orr. Ingrid Kavelaars and David Sparrow co-star.

Buso Renkin This anime series follows teen Kazuki Muto, who attempts to save -- and is later brought back to life by -- Tokiko Tsumura, a pretty damsel under attack from a beast known as a homunculus. But as it happens, she's part of an organization sworn to safeguard humanity from the homunculi, and after she implants Kazuki with a device that gives him the power to fight them, he and Tokiko join forces to vanquish the evil figure controlling the creatures.

Champion Joe While roaming the slums of Tokyo, fugitive orphan Joe Yabuki meets ex-boxer Danpei, who sees potential in the tough young kid and, through rigorous training, transforms him into a champion. The training will come in handy, too, when Joe must face off against his archrival, Tohru Rikiishi. Based on Asao Takamori and Tetsuya Chiba's manga classic, this 1980 treat pioneered the genre of sports anime.

Kujibiki Unbalance This comic anime series centers on the ups and downs of orphaned Chihiro Enomoto and his fellow freshman at Rikkyoin High School, who spend the school year campaigning for student government. Besides grappling with the election, Chihiro must deal with a smorgasbord of other issues, which includes love at first sight and a reunion with his childhood gal pal Ritsuko -- the reigning student council president -- who's become enamored of him.

A Generation Apart Filmmaker Jack Fisher recounts the story of his parents' miraculous survival from Nazi death camps and examines the intergenerational conflicts that inevitably grew between the parents and their progeny. The 1984 documentary, which originally aired on PBS, explores the wounds of the Holocaust with striking candor and poignancy. Bonus features include a commentary with the director and his father, as well a newly filmed epilogue.

Che Guevara: Hasta la Victoria Siempre The story of Ernesto Guevara de la Serna is chronicled through historic footage in this documentary, which follows the revolutionary from his early days in South and Central America to his involvement in the Cuban revolution and beyond. After participating in the Congolese guerilla war, the elusive Guevara headed to Bolivia in the late 1960s to foment an uprising. In Bolivia, Guevara was captured by a Special Forces unit and executed.

Furtwangler's Love Directed by Jan Schmidt-Garre, this affecting documentary profiles renowned Berlin Philharmonic maestro Wilhelm Furtwängler, whose unsurpassed artistry was wrought in the pressure cooker of World War II. Featuring intimate interviews, rehearsal footage and classical music excerpts such as Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony no. 7 in A Major, the film delves into Furtwängler's many passions: his music, composing and his love for his wife, Elisabeth.

Great Writers: William Faulkner Explore the life and works of one of America's greatest writers with this absorbing program on William Faulkner. Famous for his depiction of the growing pains of the South in his many novels, Faulkner received the Nobel Prize in literature in 1949. Expert commentary, archival documents and rare interviews shed light on the celebrated author, whose major works include The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, Light in August and Absalom, Absalom.

Harrier Discover the revolutionary Harrier fighter plane, the world's first vertical/short take-off and landing military aircraft, in this fascinating documentary that shows its origins and combat use by the U.S. Marine Corps, British navy and others. Nanking Co-directors Bill Guttentag and Dan Sturman helm this Sundance selection chronicling the story of "the Rape of Nanking," a World War II-era tragedy in which more than 200,000 Chinese citizens were murdered and tens of thousands were raped at the hands of Japanese soldiers. Woody Harrelson, Mariel Hemingway and Stephen Dorff portray some of the Westerners who rose to the occasion with quiet acts of heroism.
