Weird. I just want to what series GuestMax is nervous about sharing with the world...

Was it really double shipped? There is a plus sign next to the 4th disc meaning more slots then he has.

Also the status on the 2 Smiths are "shipping today" and "shipping". Maybe he just caught it while it was in the midst of changing from "shipping" to "shipping today".

I know that sometimes if I check my queue immediately after I get a return email, I can still see the returned movies AND the new ones they will be shipping. I'll have more than 3 with the extras showing the plus sign for a little while.

I haven't seen this happen in my queue. However, I have seen duplicates of a movie I marked as lost:

NETFLIX - Lost Disc Report
*******************************************************

Dear ...,

We're sorry to hear that Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession was lost in the mail. Unfortunately discs do go missing during shipment from time to time, so it is our policy to accommodate for the occasional disc lost during shipment. According to our records, you have reported the following disc(s) as lost in the mail:

Date Reported Title

11/13/05 Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession
11/13/05 Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession

If we receive any of these movie(s) from the post office, we'll let you know as soon as they arrive.

If you've requested a replacement copy, it will be shipped to you as soon as possible, otherwise, your next movie should be on its way soon. We apologize for the inconvenience.

BTW, the Z Channel documentary was pretty boring.

Actually, Netflix sent me two copies of the simpsons, season 2, disc 4, without my having marked anything as missing.

It didn't show up on my queue either, strangely enough. At first I was hoping a computer glitch was going to give me an extra movie slot for a while, but alas, such was not the case.

"This shouldn't happen because Netflix usually warns you if you try to add the same movie to your queue a second time:"

If the movie has already shipped, they won't warn you about adding it again. I've noticed this too. They should stop you from adding a movie to your queue that is already shipped, but they're clueless retards as usual.

In fact, the movie doesn't even have to have shipped. If it's just moved up to "shipping" status, they won't stop you from adding it to your queue again. See for yourself. Just try to add movies you have checked out. Nothing will stop you, saying "you already have that checked out." Typical retarded web design...

Why is this 'retarded'? On several occasions I've wanted to re-add a movie to my queue and have it shipped to me before the other copy has been received. Why? Well, user error on my part for the most part ... either I sent back the wrong movie, or my wife sends a movie back after we've watched it (but before I get to watch the special features).

Jon

It appears that Netflix is no longer the nice guy. They now keep rentals from being shipped to soon from the distribution center if you have come to close to getting your DVDs for less than $1 for that month.

They should say "Hey, you already have that in your queue. Are you sure you want to get it again?" I also think they should tell us if we've had a movie before. Some folks are forgetful and some movies aren't memorable. But they shouldn't send out two copies of a movie, without getting confirmation and/or feedback from the user. If you went to the video store and tried to check out 2 copies of some movie, they wouldn't let you do it. Most have a policy that you're only allowed to get one copy. It's called intelligence.

PlungeBob

dupe, I liked the Z Channel movie.

Probably because I enjoyed a similar service during the early years
of pay TV.

It was like a old, cool radio show where the DJ really controlled the
playlist and played the things he/she liked.

Off topic. Sorry!

I knew it! A topic about getting too many discs and someone has to turn it into a "throttle" issue!

You people have throttle on the brain!

Darin K

No kidding. I wish someone would throttle the comments from some people. :P

At least that guy had the sense to actually sign with a name. More than we can say for most.

Blockbuster not only allows you to yet again reserve a movie they already sent out, but they also don't indicate a past rental on the same title when you researve a new movie. It's so annoying when you now end up ordering again a movie you saw from them a few Months earlier. You'd think such basic features would be easy to program into their system by now.

Andrew

"Has anyone else had a similar experience?"

Last year I received two copies of "House of Sand and Fog" within two days. I just sent them both back in the same envelope, and it was never acknowledged in my queue as an oddity. I dismissed it as a computer glitch -- no harm, no foul.

Cpg

I got two copies of There Will Be Blood on the same day. Both are equally scuffed of the read side. I've only watched one, and it was clean. Does this mean I get a free copy?
