Dave from Zatz Not Funny took an Amazon Unbox survey where they asked customers what new services they would like to see. Here are a few of the possible new features:
Free ad-supported movies Burn to DVD HD video Hit movie subscription service Independent film subscription service ...and more
It looks like Netflix won't be the only flat-rate DVD rental/unlimited online streaming service for long, but will Amazon be able to match the value and selection? How much could Amazon charge for just "hit" or "independent" movie subscriptions, without the additional 90,000 DVD's that Netflix offers?
I really wonder what Blockbuster is going to do with Movielink (they've been unusually quiet lately). Will they match Netflix's offering of free, unlimited streaming and DVD rentals?
It won't be long until any old Joe with a bunch of servers and network storage will start serving up content out of his garage.
