How to Get the Roku Channel Store Update Now

Roku will be rolling out the Channel Store to customers over the next few weeks, but you can get it now by checking for update twice in a row within 20 seconds. To check for updates select "Roku Player Setttings," "player info," and "check for update" twice, quickly.

Got it today, works okay. Pandora is fine from the Roku, but the other apps I tried (Facebook & MediaFly) were slow and unimpressive. Better content and a little snappier and it could compete with some of basic cable.

I'm with CT. The MediaFly channel is way too slow. I found it to be terribly slow on the website, too, so I don't think it has anything to do with the Roku player.

I got the update Wednesday, 11/25, after receiving an e-mail from Roku around 6PM. The two channels I was interested in, Pandora and Motionbox, worked very well for me. In fact, the video playback performance from my Motionbox Premium Member account using the Roku wins hands-down versus my computer browser (home or at work.)
So, for me, this update not only increased the value & functionality of my Roku but also did the same for my Motionbox account! And if you are an Out-Of-Market MLB fan I have found that the MLB.TV on Roku delivers the gameday video like a champ where the computer browser once again is the whimp.
Like everything else in life, your experience my vary but things like Roku & PS3/Netflix is proving to me that video over IP is very much a realistic high quality experience.

Loaded the upgrade over the weekend, signed up for Pandora, and have been enjoying flawless and beautiful music since. The Roku box just doubled in importance at my house!

Pandora has a cool screen saver where the screen goes black and the album picture bounces around the screen.
