At the Google IO Conference I was suprised that the Netflix app for Android wasn't officially launched, but Google did say the new Chromebooks would support Netflix streaming and Hulu.
Since Chrome OS is based on Linux, could this be a sign that Netflix will be supporting Linux?
Will NetFlix support Linux? Maybe, but I don't think support on Chrome OS is any more indicative than support on any of the other devices that are ultimately Linux-based.
What I find much more intriguing are hints that NetFlix will be supported on HTML5. If that is true, I could easily imagine this will mean support on Linux (and everywhere else).

I think Netflix would support Linux if they didn't have to go through sliverlight to stream, and if moonlight (Linux silverlight) could handle silverlight DRM. So I could actually see goolge's platform getting it first based on the android news today. You could make a player for chrome and use the android streaming drm and I imagine it would work really well.
