Rollin' Plains Following the tried-and-true formula of previous Tex Ritter Westerns, the singing cowboy returns to help a settler in need -- this time, beleaguered cattle rancher Gospel Moody (Hobart Bosworth). Flanked by his trusty sidekicks (Horace Murphy and Snub Pollard), Tex goes up against a meddling sheep farmer (Charles King) and belts out Old West ballads such as "Me, My Pal and My Pony" and the title track, "Rollin' Plains."

House of Danger When Ralph (James Bush) is seriously injured in a boating accident, his stalwart friend Don (Onslow Stevens) agrees to impersonate him at a family gathering. But when Don arrives at the reunion site, he finds a house full of relatives -- including a conspiring uncle (John Andrews), a duplicitous fiancée (Janet Chandler) and a scheming cousin (Desmond Roberts) -- all with murder on their minds. Will Ralph arrive in time to set things straight?

Jim Hanvey, Detective When an insurance company hires hard-boiled detective James "Jim" Hanvey (Guy Kibbee) to recover a stolen emerald necklace that belongs to a wealthy man's daughter, it doesn't take long for the sleuth to trace it to the girl's boyfriend, who was perpetrating a good-natured hoax. But when the jewel disappears for real, the insurers put Hanvey back on the case, only to have him discover that, this time, it might be an inside job.

Beggars in Ermine Depressed after losing his legs in an accident, wealthy industrialist John Dawson (Lionel Atwill) befriends a group of local beggars, effectively streamlining their operation to bring in three times the revenue. The grateful tramps repay their benefactor by uncovering the truth about his "accident," revealing that his deceptive business manager (Jameson Thomas) arranged the mishap so that he could get his hands on Dawson's company.

St. Benny the Dip When lifelong con men Benny (Dick Haymes), Matthew (Roland Young) and Monk Williams (Lionel Stander) don clerical garb for a job, they never expect religion to rub off on them. But soon enough, the virtue of their outer personas seems to influence their inner voices. Nina Foch and child star Freddie Bartholomew (who played opposite W.C. Fields in the title role of George Cukor's David Copperfield) co-star.

Here Comes Trouble Mischief-prone Army buddies Dorain "Dodo" Doubleday (William Tracy) and Officer Ames (Joe Sawyer) reteam for another slapstick comedy … but this time, World War II is over, and they're clothed as working-class civilians. Now, earning their livings as a newspaper reporter and a police officer, respectively, the fumbling friends find themselves at the center of a blackmail case that takes a nosedive into murder.

You Asked for It Whether you wanted to see a man fight a monkey or hear an orchestral salute to bandleader Glenn Miller, the motto for this popular television series was, "You asked for it … you got it!" Sponsored by Skippy Peanut Butter and hosted by Art Baker, this prime-time variety show wheeled out a fascinating array of stunts, gags and special guests (all driven by viewer suggestions), taking audience participation to a new level.

26 Men Eager viewers tuned in regularly to watch this 1950s serial, following the adventures of Capt. Tom Rynning (Tris Coffin) and his team of 26 rangers, who combed the desolate plains of the Arizona desert to put the bad guys where they belonged. An expert marksman in real life, Kelo Henderson -- who played Rynning's right-hand man, Ranger Clint Davis -- taught many of Hollywood's television stars how to accurately fire a gun.

The Last of the Mohicans This 12-part Western serial -- a episodic retelling of James Fenimore Cooper's classic novel -- stars silent-film icon Harry Carey as the wiry Natty Bumppo (aka Hawkeye), a Caucasian who lives among Indians and fights battles against white soldiers. Hobart Bosworth and Frank Coghlan Jr. co-star as Hawkeye's Indian allies, Chingachgook and Uncas, while Edwina Booth plays his love interest, Cora Munro.

Headin' for the Rio Grande Singing cowboy Tex Saunders (Tex Ritter) finds himself in a heap of trouble when he agrees to investigate local gangsters at the behest of a lovely lady (Eleanor Stewart). As payment for his pains, he's framed by a saloon owner (Warner Richmond) for killing bad guy Red Dugan (James Mason) and forced to sweat it out in jail. Will his faithful sidekick, Chilo (Syd Saylor), show up to save his skin … or will Tex have a date with the gallows?

Bulldog Courage When a crooked local banker (Karl Hackett) cons him out of his profitable gold mine, Slim Braddock (Tim McCoy) is forced into a life of crime, which eventually leads to his death. Years later, his son Tim (also played by McCoy) vows to avenge his father's untimely passing by helping an innocent miner (John W. Cowell) go up against the powerful moneylender. But the actions of the schemer he's in league with (Edmund Cobb) could ruin everything.

Breed of the Border After being knocked unconscious, cowboy-turned-race car driver Speed Brent (Bob Steele) awakens to discover that his companion, Judge Stafford (John Elliott), has been wounded and robbed of his wallet. Teaming up with the judge, his right-hand man, Chuck Wiggins (George "Gabby" Hayes), and a pretty government agent (Marion Byron), Brent rallies to bring down the assailant, a certain ex-con named Killer Joe (Ernie Adams).

The Man from Texas When greedy rancher Jeff Hall (Vic Demourelle Jr.) plots to take over an adjoining spread of land, his put-upon neighbor, Speed Dennison (Kenne Duncan), calls in the big guns -- which just so happen to take the form of singing cowboy Tex Allen (Tex Ritter). Directed by Albert Herman, this classic 1930s Western features Ritter's signature vocals on the songs "Prairie Lights" and "Men Who Wear the Stars."
